Black Tourmaline often occurs with flecks of mica. Because of mica's reflective qualities, it is believed to deflect any negative energies or intent away from the holder to be transmuted into something positive. Some prefer to think it returns the negative energy to the ill wisher in order to give them a necessary lesson. The amount of mica can vary from a few flecks to most of the stone being covered. This extra grade piece contains minimal mica flecks and is a beautiful shiny black specimen.
